Founded in 1987 by Daniel Johnson, the Texas Early Music Project is dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical music through performance, recordings, and educational outreach. 

Paul D’Arcy

Paul D’Arcy, tenor


Paul D’Arcy maintains an active career as a professional choral singer, soloist, and music educator. Originally from New York’s Capital District, Paul now resides in Austin, TX, where he regularly performs with the five time Grammy® nominated Conspirareensemble viii, the Texas Early Music Project, Americantiga, theTexas Choral Consort, the Bach Cantata Project at the Blanton Museum, and in the Victoria Bach Festival. Paul also performs with the Santa Fe Desert ChoraleVox Humana of Nashville, and the Tucson Chamber Artists.

For the past ten years, Paul has been a featured soloist with various ensembles and festivals. Works include Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 and Schütz's Musikalische Exequien as well as Baroque masterpieces by J.S. Bach’s (Magnificat, Saint John Passion, Christmas Oratorio, Easter Oratorio and many cantatas) and Handel (Messiah and Dixit Dominus.) He has also recently performed Mozart’s Requiem, Vesperæ solemnes de Dominica as well as Haydn’s Stabat Mater and various masses. He also sings works from the Romantic period, including Schubert’s masses, Caldara’sStabat Mater, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, and more. Paul is co-founder and co-director of Convergence, a dynamic professional vocal ensemble. He currently teaches voice lessons at Westlake High School in Austin and maintains a private voice studio.
