TEMP 2024-2025 Season
RECONNECTIONS

Single tickets for each event will also be available for purchase soon!

September 28 & 29, 2024: Paris city limits, circa 1550

TEMP revisits Paris and environs to explore more of the popular music from the mid-16th century: exciting dances, dazzling chansons, and genuine songs of love and melancholy by the masters and by some relative unknowns. More Janequin!

DECEMBER 14 & 15, 2024: Joy and Light: Delights of the Season

TEMP’s popular annual An Early Christmas concert has expanded its parameters, so we have altered the title to reflect that element of diversity. We will still explore the intangible essence of the Christmas and Chanukah seasons with our unique imprint and innovative arrangements. The Saturday Dec. 14 performance will be held at St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church.

FEBRUARY 22 & 23, 2025: Celtic Memories

Scottish ballads from the 18 th century have been a part of TEMP’s core repertoire since the late 90s. With musical sources dating from the 16th–18th centuries and poems coming from an exciting roster of known and unknown poets, featuring poems by Robert Burns, the concert will give wonderful insight into the people who created this very popular and accessible music. Irish instrumentals by Turlough O’Carolan and others complete the memory!

MAY 17 & 18, 2025: Alegría: The Spanish Renaissance

Music from the cathedrals of 16th-century Spain and popular folk melodies for voices, viols, lutes, and sackbuts, featuring an ensalada or two, in this treat for the ears and the spirit. Like most salads, ensaladas are created from a little of this and little of that, but that’s where the similarity ends. Filled with drama, Biblical quotations, exhortations, lovely melodies, and lots of humor, the ensaladas are toe-tappers from beginning to end! They were extraordinarily popular in many of the Cathedrals of Renaissance Spain—and were even banned in a few!

All Saturday concerts will begin at 7:30pm
All Sunday concerts will begin at 3:00pm

All concerts with the exception of the performance on Set. Dec. 14 will be hosted by Arts on Alexander on the campus of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, 2111 Alexander Ave, Austin, TX 78722

The Sat. Dec. 14 performance of Joy and Light will be at St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 606 W 15th St, Austin, TX 78701
