About this musical offering...
Visit the popular music of Paris from the mid-16th century with chansons portraying scenes of daily life (drinking, the resultant hangovers, marital arguments, romantic friskiness, and more) by composers such as Passereau, Janequin, and Sermisy. We also feature instrumental music of the era, featuring viols, vielles, recorders, and lutes. A couple of rarely heard folk pieces from 15th- & 16th-century France round out the program as TEMP explores the rustic and sophisticated sides of Parisian and French country life. Our friends Bourrée Texane joined us for the 2007 concert! Que la fête commence!
Recorded live September 30, 2006, and October 20, 2007, at First English Lutheran Church, Austin, TX. Jay Norwood, Recording Engineer.
